A question every buyer asks about the boat they’re ready to purchase. The solution is to find a reputable surveyor that knows what they’re doing and have them look over the boat, inside and out.
First, by test sailing her to make sure everything works underway. Then by inspecting every hose, hydraulic line, and bit of machinery that makes her tick. Finally, they’ll inspect the hull for damage and soft spots after she’s been hauled from the water.
It’s not a cheap endeavor, but its the best bet to ensure you’re not buying someone else’s problem.
